About The Position

The Senior Manager, Demand Planning & SOP owns the end-to-end Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and is accountable for delivering a single, aligned demand plan that supports company growth, service level targets, and financial objectives. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for forecast accuracy, cross-functional alignment, and executive-level communication. The role serves as the primary bridge between Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain, ensuring demand signals are rigorously analyzed, challenged, and translated into an executable operating plan. The Senior Manager, Demand Planning & S&OP leads the demand planning function, directly manages the Demand Planner, and holds forecast sign-off authority prior to downstream supply and procurement execution. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7–10 years of experience in Demand Planning, S&OP, or related Supply Chain roles (CPG strongly preferred)
  • Proven experience owning and leading an S&OP process
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into executive-level insights
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; forecasting or planning tools preferred
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated ability to hold teams accountable while maintaining strong partnerships

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the end-to-end S&OP process, including demand review, supply review partnership, executive alignment, and final plan sign-off.
  • Establish and enforce S&OP cadence, inputs, outputs, and decision rights to ensure rigor, transparency, and accountability.
  • Prepare and present S&OP materials to executive leadership, clearly articulating risks, opportunities, trade-offs, and recommended actions.
  • Incorporate feasibility feedback from Supply Execution into the final demand plan prior to plan sign-off and escalate unresolved trade-offs through S&OP governance.
  • Own the company demand forecast across short-, mid-, and long-term horizons.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve forecast models using historical data, market trends, promotional activity, and new product launches.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy and bias; clearly identify misses, root causes, and accountable stakeholders.
  • Act as the final approver of the demand plan before procurement and supply execution.
  • Partner closely with Sales and Marketing to incorporate promotional plans, new initiatives, and market intelligence into the forecast.
  • Act as a disciplined but diplomatic counterbalance to commercial teams, challenging assumptions and ensuring fact-based forecasting.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Procurement to ensure demand plans are feasible, actionable, and aligned with capacity and inventory strategies.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure demand plans align with financial targets and budgets.
  • Directly manage and develop the Demand Planner; provide coaching, prioritization, and performance feedback.
  • Operate as a “working manager,” actively involved in analysis, modeling, and output creation.
  • Identify and implement improvements to forecasting processes, tools, and reporting.
  • Drive clarity and consistency in demand planning metrics, assumptions, and documentation.
  • Adapt S&OP outputs and processes based on executive feedback and evolving business needs.
  • Lead or participate in special projects as required.
