About The Position

As a Senior Manager, Data Engineering & Data Science Manager, you will lead a diverse world-class engineering organization that designs, builds, and maintains data pipelines as well as uses data science to advance the company's analytics strategy. We are looking for a leader that is passionate about implementing new technologies while driving best practices to build the future data engineering and data science practice in a global, fast moving, and market leading company! Your knowledge will prove invaluable as you partner with other technology and analytics teams to chart and implement the analytics strategy for Colgate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Advanced university degree in computer science, statistics or related field a plus
  • 10+ years of related work experience, including people management experience.
  • 5 years of experience with Python, R, Java, SQL, Spark, Airflow required
  • At least 3 years of experience in architecting and building highly performant data engineering solutions that include acquisition, processing, and ingestion of data from external sources required
  • 3 years of experience with DataOps, MLOps, and Model Life Cycle Management required
  • Proficient in Data Architecture, ELT/ETL tools & concepts, Data Integration, Data Catalog, Data Wrangling, Data Quality, Data Governance, Data Lineage, and tools in order to implement these concepts.
  • Proficient in Cloud Data Warehouses like SnowFlake/Big Query.
  • Proficient knowledge of machine learning methodologies and techniques.
  • Proficient in Modern cloud native development technologies like Kubernetes and containerized applications
  • Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team-building, and conflict resolution.
  • History of leading autonomously and executing and implementing complex projects;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
  • Ability to lead human capital across geographies to drive workforce development and achieve desired results.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills.
  • Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing, building & maintaining highly scalable, predictable, and modern data pipeline and data science solutions.
  • Manage a team of engineers to ensure deliverables are met and align the team to deliver on multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives and timelines are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
  • Communicate project status and raise issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners.
  • Proactively find opportunities for improving and keeping our Data Engineering and Data Science tech stacks modern.
  • Find opportunities and develop science strategies
  • Centralizing data and standardizing it for use by business, data science or other analytics teams
  • Enable democratization and drive awareness of data across the company
