About The Position

Related is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Center Campus Facility to establish, lead, and operate our data center campus in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This role is accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation, maintenance, and optimization of critical and non-critical infrastructure supporting large-scale data centers. The position is client-facing and leads high-performing operations teams in a 24/7 mission-critical environment. The role partners closely with construction, design, and engineering teams and drives operational excellence, safety, and uptime across the campus.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in critical facilities or data center operations.
  • 2+ years of people management experience, including managing managers and/or large teams.
  • Strong knowledge of critical power, cooling, automation, and building systems.
  • Experience operating in high-availability, mission-critical environments.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with environmental, health, and safety programs and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with CMMS, BMS, EPMS, DCIM, or similar operational systems.
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Ability to support 24/7 operations, including after-hours escalation.
  • Ability to work in physical environments requiring walking, lifting, climbing, and other job site activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; or equivalent technical trade certification.
  • 15+ years of experience in mission-critical or data center operations.
  • Proven experience leading incident command, emergency response, and large-scale incident management.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry standards and codes, including NFPA, ASHRAE, NEC, OSHA, and life-safety regulations.
  • Experience supporting new build, expansion, and retrofit projects, including commissioning and operational turnover.
  • Advanced experience with building automation, power monitoring, and/or DCIM platforms.
  • Experience operating across multiple sites or regions within a large-scale critical facilities portfolio.
  • Formal safety or leadership training (e.g., Incident Command System, OSHA 30) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the safe, reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous optimization of mission-critical data center infrastructure across one or more facilities.
  • Ensure maximum uptime and resiliency of power, cooling, automation, and supporting building systems.
  • Direct the development, review, and governance of Sequences of Operation (SOO), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs).
  • Oversee work management processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effectiveness within asset and maintenance management systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, active work, and critical equipment to evaluate performance, reliability, and operational risk.
  • Manage automation and monitoring platforms to optimize system performance, capacity utilization, and fault detection.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce operating costs, and strengthen infrastructure resiliency.
  • Champion a safety-first culture while reinforcing accountability and consistent operational discipline across all teams.
  • Lead onsite operations teams, including third-party managers and critical facilities operators, to deliver reliable 24/7 operations.
  • Provide hands-on coaching, mentoring, and leadership development in a dynamic, always-on operating environment.
  • Ensure training programs and qualification standards are effective, current, and rigorously enforced.
  • Accountable for site safety and environmental compliance in partnership with vendor leadership teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, environmental programs, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Lead incident response and escalation activities, including after-hours support as required.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning; integrate lessons learned into ongoing operations.
  • Oversee risk mitigation efforts, resolving or escalating redundancy and resiliency issues as appropriate.
  • Partner with construction, design, and commissioning teams on new build and retrofit projects to ensure operational readiness prior to turnover.
  • Serve as the primary operations point of contact for construction activities affecting live production environments.
  • Lead infrastructure improvement initiatives by defining scope, prioritization, schedule, and execution strategy.
  • Oversee vendor and contractor performance supporting operations and maintenance.
  • Own document management processes, ensuring accurate and current records for drawings, specifications, SOPs, warranties, commissioning data, and turnover documentation.
  • Collaborate with peer leaders across campuses and regions to drive consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with site-based cross-functional teams and serve as the voice of Related Digital in communications with tenant employees.
  • Translate complex technical and operational information into clear, effective communication for internal and external stakeholders.
