The Treasury department is responsible for managing the capital and liquidity of the firm, enabling strategic investments and ensuring the strength of the balance sheet. As part of that objective, the department is responsible for all cash activities of the firm, borrowing and investment to meet cash needs and managing bank and counterparty relationships. All firm settlements with trading partners and clearing houses, as well as all intercompany and interbank transfers are managed by the Treasury department, as are investing excess operational cash (both U.S. and Canada operations). Treasury also manages FX risk management transactions, investment of client cash pools and partners closely with business areas on business initiatives. Additionally, the department is also responsible for risk oversight and control to protect the assets of the firm and support the growth objectives.
