The Senior Manager, Construction is responsible for overseeing the construction activities of telecommunication sites within a designated geographic area. This role involves planning, directing, and organizing resources to ensure quality construction is completed on time and within budget. The position requires operational and financial management, as well as collaboration with various stakeholders including field personnel, customers, and subcontractors.

  • Manage all financial responsibility for the respective construction field office.
  • Direct staff to ensure construction is performed in a quality and timely manner according to plans, specifications, budget, and customer expectations.
  • Develop and nurture client relationships to ensure satisfaction with day-to-day operations.
  • Assist in resolving customer issues as required.
  • Ensure quality construction is performed within established budget and schedule while meeting customer performance standards.
  • Maintain and enforce all safety and quality practices, including OSHA guidelines.
  • Ensure all databases are up to date.
  • Develop and build a subcontractor base.
  • Read and understand site status reports, site plans, tower drawings, and grounding plans.
  • Interface with customers and subcontractors as needed.
  • Train and facilitate communication between construction supervisors, customer representatives, subcontractors, and internal personnel.
  • Ensure construction supervisors coordinate logistics and effectively schedule subcontractors and internal crews.
  • Ensure all necessary building permits, NTP(s), and lease status approvals are received before initiating construction.
  • Work closely with Area Construction Director and Project Controls Managers for proper WIP management and forecast adjustments.
  • Maintain the fleet of vehicles and equipment assigned to the area, ensuring proper operation and maintenance.
  • Review and approve time sheets, expense reports, invoices, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Identify negative budget variances and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Notify Area Construction Director of jobs/projects that cannot be performed within budget and of staffing and equipment needs.
  • Report any vehicle accidents or workplace injuries to the appropriate parties.
  • Perform other related duties to ensure a safe workplace, quality construction, and timely project completion.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or H.S. Diploma/GED with equivalent work experience.
  • 5-10 years of cell tower construction management experience, including knowledge of 'brick and mortar' construction.
  • 3-5 years of management experience.
  • Valid Government Issued Driver's License.
  • Experience in telecommunications infrastructure management.
