Senior Manager, Communications

CrusoeSan Francisco, CA

About The Position

Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster. We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI. We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services. If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe. Crusoe is seeking a Sr. Manager, Communications to help us lead the conversation at the intersection of energy and AI. We are looking for a communications strategist and world-class writer who can translate complex technical topics into compelling stories that amplify our mission. As the "engineer" behind our news programs, you will partner with teams across the company—from engineering to operations—to identify and develop a consistent cadence of high-impact moments. This role requires a mastery of messaging and storytelling, combined with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" approach to execution and a meticulous eye for detail. We are an AI-first company and are looking for a practitioner who views generative AI as a core part of their toolkit—someone who leverages modern AI agents and tools to scale their impact and sharpen their output.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in communications or public relations, with a demonstrated track record of securing press results at top-tier outlets.
  • You don't just talk about AI; you use it daily. You have integrated AI into your workflows—from deploying agents to automate tasks to using LLMs for research and drafting—and you adopt new tools as they emerge.
  • You have real, working relationships with journalists and influencers. You know how to pitch, place, and protect a narrative on your own.
  • Especially in today’s AI-first world, your ability to write with nuance, clarity, and human insight is non-negotiable.
  • You are comfortable executing with limited resources and high ambiguity. You proactively identify opportunities and build the plan without waiting for a roadmap.
  • You know how to build trust across functions (Product, Legal, Marketing) and move fast without stepping on toes. We’re a lean team with no room for egos.
  • You are metrics-driven and accountable, with a track record of turning communications efforts into measurable business outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the AI, AI infrastructure, cloud platform, or energy industries is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a strategic news program that demonstrates momentum and amplifies Crusoe's core narratives across each of its business units.
  • Build and maintain direct relationships with journalists across technology, infrastructure, energy, and financial media. You must be able to pitch and place stories independently; we need a practitioner who can "hunt" and isn't solely reliant on agencies.
  • Partner with Crusoe’s subject matter experts to sharpen messaging—translating complex topics across AI infrastructure, energy, and cloud platforms into compelling stories for a range of audiences.
  • Work with Crusoe’s bench of spokespeople to develop and place high-impact op-eds, keynote scripts, and social media content that secures Crusoe’s position as a leader in the AI infrastructure market.
  • Monitor the media landscape closely and coordinate timely, strategic responses to industry shifts and challenges.
  • Manage our PR agency relationships day-to-day—setting clear priorities, holding teams accountable to outcomes, and ensuring resources are deployed against the highest-value opportunities.
  • Own communications reporting. You will track coverage, share of voice, and program outcomes, using data to continuously improve strategy and demonstrate impact.
