About The Position

As a Senior Manager in Client Relations and Business Development at Discover, you will lead a team responsible for developing and maintaining network participant relationships. Your role will involve setting clear targets and establishing best practices to ensure that each Relationship Manager/Business Development (RM/BD) is effectively growing the value of their relationships on behalf of Discover. You will serve as a people leader supporting teams that manage multiple complex partner relationships, perform market analyses, and engage in business development activities to drive growth. Additionally, you will coach your team to identify, manage, and escalate risks effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in the Payments industry in sales/business development, relationship management, strategy, operations, project management, planning, and finance.
  • Proven experience building deep and influential relationships with key stakeholders, executive-level clients, and internal business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to develop and maintain network participant relationships by setting clear targets and establishing best practices.

  • Explore new opportunities that drive volume growth including revenue and expansion.
  • Ensure the team maintains accurate pipeline and client records in CRM tools.
  • Travel with team members to support client engagement effectiveness.
  • Coach and develop team members in accordance with Performance and Talent Management processes.
