The salary range for this role, based in Kentucky, is $112,880.00 to $141,100.00. The range may vary if the role outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position. Role Purpose Lead the end-to-end procurement strategy, supplier management, and value creation agenda for packaging categories, ensuring delivery of cost competitiveness, supply resilience, innovation, sustainability, and flawless execution across the North American business.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years in CPG packaging procurement and/or packaging operations
  • Demonstrated ownership of commercial negotiations and category strategies
  • Strong understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and cost drivers
  • Proven ability to influence Stakeholders without authority
  • Track record of value creation, not just execution
  • Experience working in matrixed, regional/global organizations
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Category Strategy & Value Creation Own end-to-end packaging category strategies (glass, closures, labels, secondary packaging, etc.) aligned with business, brand, and regional priorities. Deliver multi-year cost-savings, inflation mitigation, and value-engineering pipelines. Translate packaging design and technical decisions into COGS, margin, and cash impact.
  • Supplier Strategy & Commercial Leadership Lead supplier segmentation, negotiation strategy, contracting, and performance management. Drive supplier accountability across cost, service, quality, innovation, and ESG. Actively manage risk, BCPs, dual-sourcing, and capacity strategies.
  • Packaging Development & NPD Leadership Partner with Marketing, NPD, and Operations to influence design-to-value decisions early. Ensure packaging solutions meet brand intent, manufacturability, sustainability, regulatory, and cost objectives. Lead supplier involvement in innovation, lightweighting, and alternative materials.
  • Operational & Governance Excellence Ensure robust specifications, GS1 compliance, ERP master data, and change-management processes. Govern packaging standards, approvals, and compliance with all regulatory and Pernod Ricard frameworks. Budget creation, and COGS management Support supplier audits, continuous improvement, and quality initiatives.
  • People & Stakeholder Leadership Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing packaging team. Act as a trusted business partner to Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, and Global Procurement. Influence at senior leadership level with data-driven recommendations.
