This position is responsible for managing various aspects of a client’s partnership portfolio, supporting account team members with partnership management, project coordination, client measurement/reporting, presentations, and the implementation of timelines and budgets. The successful candidate will respond to client requests, provide excellent client service, and represent client needs and goals to ensure partnership objectives are met. This role will be based in Brooklyn, NY (Dumbo) with limited travel, and candidates must be willing to relocate if not currently based in the selected office location.

Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant experience with minimum 3 years of direct experience in account and project management (preferably in sports league and/or team partnerships)
  • Robust understanding of sports property, rights, and media landscape
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the sports and entertainment landscape with a working knowledge of what is happening across culture today
  • Effective contract negotiation skills and familiarity with contract development
  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and web-based project management tools; advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel for deck development and budget management.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with people of all demographics.
  • Requires self-management, including the ability to ability to assess a situation and quickly implement solutions.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be flexible enough to react under stressful circumstances.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Motivated, goal oriented, persistent and a skilled negotiator.
  • High level of initiative and works well independently and in a team environment.
  • Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

  • Manages brand integration; work with clients to understand and exceed their business objectives.
  • Manages client and partner relationships to secure most efficient and effective partnerships in support of client brand strategies
  • Manages interagency relationships; works with outside agencies and partners to ensure smooth execution of all client programs.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with key stakeholders to ensure all parties receive appropriate attention, support, and ensures THE·TEAM is in lock-step with the client’s plans as it relates to the growth and changes.
  • Understands the landscape for each client’s business as well as the industry contexts for their investments.
  • Builds cutting edge strategic plans for clients to meet and exceed objectives.
  • Builds relationships with clients to encourage new and repeat business opportunities.
  • Uses forward thinking initiative to identify the next best strategic opportunities and continue to deliver top results to the client.
  • Manages client communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables.
  • Ensures that all processes and procedures are completed and quality standards are met.
  • Provides regular two-way communication between the clients and external partners, to provide strong client service and set proper client expectations.
  • Leads team members in client service, relationship development, and project coordination.
  • Assists Director in the supervision, training, and professional development of team members
  • Perform various tasks as needed by internal team members such as research, reports, daily updates, editing of materials, etc.
  • Stay up to date on client product / service offering and is able to thoughtfully present to potential partners.
  • Learn and manage client-facing project management systems and legal processes for the purposes of supporting the creation and approval of different project documents.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients to encourage new and repeat business opportunities.
