For more information, visit www.grainger.com. Responsible for building and defining the Branch Network long-term Strategic roadmap, improving customer experience. Responsible for creating a prioritization framework for project work aligning with LT strategy. Partner with business leaders to build annual plans to support upstream work. Leading vetting of new incoming work from upstream partners. Support postmortem analysis of implementations to understand impact to financial and operating KPIs. This is a Hybrid position requiring a minimum of 2 days per week onsite at the Lake Forest or Chicago, IL Grainger offices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Strategy, Economics/Finance, Marketing, or equivalent work experience required and
  • 7+ years work experience in the areas of customer or business analysis preferred
  • Strong strategic / innovative thinking
  • Analytics and data analysis skill set
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Branch Network operating processes and Grainger end-to-end service delivery chain
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to overcome complexity and deliver concise business cases
  • Ability to balance and prioritize work on multiple projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with field employees and senior leaders of Grainger.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the refinement and communication of the Branch Network Roadmap to Branch Field Teams and stakeholders. As well as specific priorities within the roadmap, with a focus on inventory, demand generation and the Branch footprint.
  • Continually prioritizes workstreams to ensure focus on most impactful opportunities and new initiatives; by identifying key issues/topics, questions and hypothesis. Identifies analysis, research, and the data required to support.
  • Leads research for new strategic initiatives, building comprehensive analysis such using voice of customer analysis, operations go sees/ round tables, operating metrics, and financial assessment. Develops insights from analysis to translate into strategies, actions and recommendations.
  • Creates strategic briefs, typically through PowerPoint, for initiatives and programs aligning with Branch Network Leadership on problem statement and go forward plan.
  • Prepares Branch Network updates to the Grainger Leadership Team as well as opportunity to participate in the presentation.
  • Forms and leads cross-functional project teams to ensure coordinated implementation of programs and initiatives.
  • Supports exploratory, descriptive, and statistical analysis performed by direct reports.
  • Defines key metrics for the Branch Network.
