Position Purpose: Manages the team members accountable for designing, developing, and implementing complex enterprise software solutions. Collaborates closely with technical and non-technical roles such as data modelers, architects, business analysts, data stewards, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to provide design, technical analysis, development/configuration, testing, implementation, and support expertise representing the interest of the business across the enterprise. Oversees a team consisting of Senior Application Development Engineers responsible with large-scale complex Application Development projects / programs Accountable for leading efforts around project scope, schedule, and budget ensuring commitments and progress are monitored closely and communicated clearly. Makes decisions based on reported application progress and outcomes Establishes training and career development planning to Application Developers Oversees the work of 3rd party Development teams, holds 3rd party vendors accountable to our standards, policies, and performance expectations. Defines processes to identify and evaluate risks and participates in mitigation and control activities Expertly communicates with Application and Infrastructure Management operational groups during service transition Partners with Security and SRE teams, makes sure all security and change management policies are followed. Leads the design and development of proof of concept and prototype application environments Manages the hiring and training of new and existing staff, conduct performance / salary reviews, and provide leadership, technical guidance and coaching to Developers executing all aspects of applications development Establishes operational objectives and delegates tasks to team Developers to help ensure the stable operation of application development activities Provides expert knowledge to develop staff capabilities to strengthen understanding of application development industry, business issues and best practices; evaluate implications to IT Develops and communicates departmental objectives; inspire and motivate team members to achieve results Holds teams accountable to meet functional, quality, and time line objectives.
