About The Position

Fanatics is building a leading global digital sports platform, creating a seamless experience for fans across commerce, collectibles, and gaming. As part of this mission, our Fan Ecosystem team plays a critical role in driving customer engagement and lifetime value across the Fanatics ecosystem. We are seeking a Senior Manager, App Strategy & Operations – Games & Engagement to own the commercial strategy for free-to-play games and daily engagement within the Fanatics app. This is a high-impact role for a commercially-minded operator who knows how to drive app adoption and deepen user engagement, turning customer insights and market trends into initiatives that deliver measurable business results. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in free-to-play games and multi-proposition app ecosystems, a strong grasp of app engagement mechanics, and a track record of executing go-to-market strategies in fast-moving, cross-functional environments.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in commercial strategy, go-to-market strategy, or product marketing within fast-growing consumer businesses.
  • Hands-on experience with free-to-play games, gaming ecosystems, or app engagement products is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive app adoption and optimize user engagement journeys across digital experiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience owning business performance reporting and translating data into strategic recommendations.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives in matrixed organizations, influencing without direct authority across Product, Marketing, and Analytics.
  • Excellent communicator: able to distill complex analysis into clear, compelling narratives for both executive and working-team audiences.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Based in or able to commute to the Fanatics NYC office a minimum of three days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Own the commercial strategy for Free-to-Play, Scores, and cross-sell within the Fanatics app, defining how these experiences drive app adoption, daily engagement, and lifetime value.
  • Build and maintain a rigorous baseline view of business performance, partnering with Analytics and Finance to stand up dashboards, weekly reporting, and the KPIs that matter most across engagement and customer metrics.
  • Identify, develop, and execute commercial initiatives, from seasonal campaigns to new feature launches, partnering closely with Product, Marketing, and Design to bring them to market.
  • Partner with Product, Research, and Analytics to assess the competitive landscape, build and track the engagement funnel to identify friction in current app journeys, and build a prioritized roadmap of tests and optimizations.
  • Define the cross-sell strategy from free-to-play and engagement surfaces into commerce, collectibles, and betting, identifying the moments and triggers that convert engaged users into transacting customers.
  • Influence product roadmap decisions with a clear, evidence-based POV on customer and business impact.
