About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting operations of our company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial management, with a proven ability to lead a team and manage multiple priorities. The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, managing accounting staff, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and (tax) regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA certification is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including GAAP, IFRS, and tax compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain financial information to non-finance professionals.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and related technologies, such as ERP systems (Netsuite preferred) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting operations: Manage the day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, and payroll.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other financial analyses. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax requirements. Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits and implement any necessary changes to maintain compliance.
  • Oversee key tax compliance and reporting including federal and state - liaise with external consultants on technical tax topcis as needed
  • Manage Accounting Staff: Recruit, train, and supervise accounting staff, ensuring their professional development and the achievement of performance objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency, reduce risks, and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Maintain relationships with external partners, including banks, auditors, and tax authorities.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll tax, labor, and other regulatory requirements. Prepare and submit required payroll reports and tax filings to government agencies in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration with HR: Collaborate closely with the Human Resources department to ensure proper tracking and reporting of employee benefits, leave balances, and other HR-related data.
  • Lead financial function for NetSuite implementation.
