As a Senior Manager supporting Account & Reporting, you will be trusted to manage accounting processes, ensuring accurate transaction recording, compliance with standards, and timely financial report preparation. You will lead and guide teams, implementing departmental plans and ensuring team success from our site in Fort Worth, TX. In this role, a typical day will include: Interacting proactively with functional areas to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting is accomplished within prescribed deadlines and in accordance with IFRS / Alcon Accounting Manual Managing the completion and review of monthly balance sheet account analyses and reconciliations ensuring they are robust and balances are accurately stated Managing the monthly closing process for assigned area(s) Ensuring ongoing process improvements through the month to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and address business / operational changes. Maintaining responsibility for the delivery of service levels and SLA/KPI targets for assigned area(s) Collaborating proactively with key stakeholders, including Finance colleagues, internal and external accounting authorities/auditors, and Regional/Global Financial Reporting and Accounting. Ensuring communication with these stakeholders is appropriate and timely when questions regarding accounting/reporting matters arise. Ensuring all processes comply with Alcon standards and policies (i.e. global processes, Alcon Accounting Manual, Alcon Financial Controls Manual, Management Authorization Levels, etc.). Understanding all impacts to the general ledger for assigned area(s) due to other intra- and inter-departmental transactions including manufacturing, inventory and cost accounting, inter-company receivables and payables, cash activity and activity from other functional departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 5 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
