About The Position

The Senior Manager, Accounting & FP&A is responsible for leading financial planning and analysis initiatives while providing strong accounting leadership and cross-functional financial support. This role partners closely with executive leadership, property operations, and accounting teams to drive financial performance, strengthen controls, and support strategic decision-making across the real estate portfolio. Key Responsibilities include: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) where the role leads the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting efforts across the real estate portfolio, develops, maintains, and enhances short-and long-term financial models to support strategic planning and investment decisions, analyzes financial and operational performance, including key real estate metrics such as NOI,ROI, cash flow, and operating margins, partners with property management and operations teams to evaluate performance, identify risks,and uncover opportunities for margin improvement, prepares and presents clear, actionable financial insights, trends, and recommendations to the President and ownership, and supports capital planning and CapEx initiatives, including underwriting, scenario analysis, and return evaluations. Accounting Leadership & Financial Reporting responsibilities include managing and developing the accounting team, providing mentorship, performance guidance, and accountability, overseeing and continuously improving the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy, consistency,and timeliness, designing, implementing, and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to create a more structured, disciplined, and predictable close period, establishing and communicating clear close calendars, roles, deadlines, and approval workflows, reviewing and analyzing property-level and corporate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal accounting policies, and company standards, strengthening internal controls, data integrity, and documentation across financial systems and processes, and partnering with accounting staff to identify and implement process improvements, automation, and efficiency. Cross-Functional Leadership & Strategic Support involves serving as a key liaison between finance, accounting, property operations, and senior leadership, providing financial guidance to property managers on budgeting, cost control, and performance optimization, supporting the continued development and optimization of financial systems, reporting tools, and ERP platforms, assisting in building scalable, repeatable finance processes to support company growth and operational complexity, and contributing to ad hoc financial analyses, special projects, and strategic initiatives as needed. Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 10–12 years of experience in accounting and/or FP&A
  • Proven experience managing accounting teams and overseeing the monthly close process
  • Demonstrated ownership of the P&L process, partnering directly with executives and senior management
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and CapEx analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
