About The Position

The EMEA Sr. Manager supports the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Regions of L3Harris's global business. This position reports to the Accounting Director based in US Headquarters, Melbourne Florida. The post holder will be responsible for providing accurate and timely month-end reports for a variety of divisional entities in Europe and the Middle East within the EMEA region. This will require close liaison with the wider accounting team, segment finance teams, CHQ consolidation team, tax and legal teams, Accenture outsourcing partners, and with personnel at all levels within the EMEA, APAC and US region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Accounting/Finance/Business Administration preferred), with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience.
  • Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

  • Ability to communicate at the appropriate level when dealing with different groups e.g. staff and peers, various L3Harris teams including executive management, external auditors, external advisors.

Responsibilities

  • Supervisor of 3 Associate Managers each leading one sub Group Lead team with 2 to 3 staff.
  • Covering ~ 30 Business Units, ~ 15 countries/legal entities.
  • Master Peoplesoft (ERP system), HFM (Group reporting system), Account reconciliations in ARCS.
  • Monthly/Qtrly/Yearly US GAAP accounting close including supplemental information, various schedules, balance sheet reconciliations, flux analysis, P&L Trending, validation checks in HFM etc.
  • Review/Approval/Identify risk or issues areas and plan follow-up action items.
  • UK pension accounting both US GAAP and UK GAAP, UK and UAE Project Accounting (Revenue recognition, Inventory etc).
  • Own Peoplesoft General ledgers, maintain mapping of Peoplesoft to HFM.
  • Manage monthly UK cost allocation to affiliates.
  • Prepare annual budget (AOP) for UK team, and periodic AOP vs Forecast/Actual analysis.
  • Manage and drive meetings with segment finance/operation team/tax team for discussion related to accounting treatment/process flow for new contracts/transactions/staff transfer, or problem solving etc.
  • Manage Statutory audits or Unaudited F/S filing, and Statutory to GAAP reconciliations.
  • For countries with local accounting firm prepare local GAAP financials, work closely with them to ensure Local Stat Financials and US GAAP Financials are in sync/reconciled.
  • Manage Internal audits with Internal Audit team.
  • Transfer Pricing (TP) and Cost Plus (CP) computation/execution and address EY TP/CP enquiries regarding evidence (meetings, approval, margin proof), and support data requests related to this area.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement to maximize opportunities to improve efficiency and controls.
  • Support SAR processes (System Action Request) and System Project/new implementation as necessary (Implement Peoplesoft for new BU or BU not yet utilizing Peoplesoft).
  • Own Audit Board for month end closing process (internal control and key processes documentation).
  • Lead EMEA Project Orion consolidations and expansions.
  • Liaise with the EMEA tax as required.
