The Senior Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure college facilities and equipment are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role requires a high level of expertise, leadership, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This Senior Maintenance Worker will also assist in training and guiding the maintenance staff.

  • Demonstrate TSTC's core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.
  • Conduct inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes.
  • Lead maintenance projects and coordinate tasks among maintenance staff.
  • Enter occupied and unoccupied buildings with appropriate accompaniment.
  • Check out tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Operate state vehicles and equipment safely.
  • Coordinate with other departments to address facility needs while providing regular updates to their supervisor.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks requiring strength and frequent moderate lifting (30-60 lbs), often in awkward positions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Four years experience in trade.
  • Applicable license or ability to obtain one in the first year of employment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.
