Senior Maintenance Technician SafeSource Direct ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment to maximize machine reliability Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service Perform technician skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas Update PM's and operating procedures to increase machine reliability Ensure PM execution and maximize manpower usage Actively trains maintenance technicians and process operators in operation, trouble shooting and repair of manufacturing equipment Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts Starts devices to test their performance Initiates purchase order for parts and machines Responsible for sanitation and safety of work area and maintenance of equipment in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices, FDA, OSHA 1910 and NFPA 70E standards Leads and participates in continuous improvement efforts to raise manufacturing performance in order to meet and exceed critical Plant Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost KPI's Lead breakdowns and complete a breakdown sheet for each occurrence Create a Root Cause Analysis for critical breakdowns Plan and Log completion of predictive and preventive maintenance Setup lineside spares Complete a criticality analysis of each piece of equipment Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: Ability to set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts Able to operate welding equipment and various hand/power tools Knowledge of plumbing and electrical fundamentals Familiar with industrial and mechanical terminology Analytical mindset with ability to troubleshoot/investigate issues Strong communication skills Prioritization skills with ability to thrive in fast paced environment Problem solving skills Team oriented with positive can-do attitude EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent required Certificate from college or technical school and 5 or more years of related maintenance or packaging machinery experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Maintenance experience in medical device or medical PPE manufacturing preferred Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) knowledge and experience Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products Word Processing software Knowledge of CMMS systems Knowledge of CFR 110, current good manufacturing practices, FDA Standards, OSHA 1910 and NFPA 70E standards is a plus PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Noise Conditions- exposed to constant or intermittent sounds at a level sufficient to cause hearing loss or fatigue Heat/Cold - exposure to high or low temperatures Injury Exposure - exposed to workplace hazards or potential injuries Atmospheric Exposure - exposed to dust, fumes, vapors or mists Inside - 75% or more Sitting - for extended period of time without being able to leave the work area Standing - for extended periods of time without being able to leave the work area Climbing - ladders, scaffolding, work in overhead areas, etc. Walking - considerable distances, please indicate Lifting - Up to 75 pounds; lifting equipment and assistance provided; maximum and frequent Pulling and/or pushing - on a frequent basis Carrying - regularly carries objects in his/her arms or on the shoulder(s) Grasping - regularly picks up objects with fingers Reaching - regularly required to use hands and arms to reach objects Stooping/Crouching - regularly required to bend forward by bending at the waist or by bending legs and spine Crawling - required to work in confined space, crawl and move about on hands and knees Near Acuity - requires clarity at 20 feet or more with or without corrective lenses Speaking - requires expressing ideas by the spoken word Listening - requires the perception of speech or the nature of sounds in the air PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Steel Toed Shoes Ear Protection Safety glasses
