About The Position

The Senior Maintenance Technician at JELD-WEN is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing equipment to minimize production downtime. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, managing parts, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures. The technician will work on various machinery, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and will be expected to maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
  • Fluency in safety procedures related to maintenance and repair of production machinery.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform all aspects of LOTO requirements to meet state and federal standards.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic cylinder operation and the ability to rebuild them.
  • Experience with VFD's and PLC's.
  • Understanding of low voltage DC circuits and 110 through 480 Volt AC single and three phase.
  • Ability to operate production-related machinery including electric scissor lift, electric pallet jack, forklift, and overhead crane.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to self-manage to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Advanced mechanical aptitude.
  • Technical knowledge down to component level.
  • Qualified to troubleshoot up to 120 VAC.
  • Expert knowledge of control circuit voltage troubleshooting & repair.
  • Can operate and perform tasks on CNC mill.
  • G-Code programming experience.
  • New part and machine setup and programming.
  • Facilities alarm systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Install, replace, and change machine parts as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment per the Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule.
  • Keep accurate and detailed records and PM schedules.
  • Quickly troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize machine downtime.
  • Perform tolerance checks and make adjustments to ensure machine conformance to part quality requirements.
  • Observe mechanical operation of all equipment to determine machine conformance.
  • Responsible for purchasing parts and parts management.
