About The Position

This role serves as a senior technical escalation resource and working lead for complex mechanical systems, equipment repairs, and facility infrastructure. The Senior Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in proactive equipment maintenance, supporting engineering initiatives, and driving operational reliability through automation and digital transformation.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Mechanics, Mechanical Technology, or a related field required.
  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on industrial mechanical experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, including proven leadership as a Lead Machinist.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, automation, facility infrastructure, and PM best practices.
  • Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting, AutoCAD, technical prints, and PM systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments and levels.
  • Commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with RTO operations and air emissions compliance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an escalation resource for complex mechanical issues not resolved during shift by machinists or technicians.
  • Lead or support root cause analyses (BDA) with actionable countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in and lead Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) for critical mechanical systems and infrastructure.
  • Partner with Planners and Building Leads to assign, prioritize, and schedule mechanical maintenance work.
  • Provide oversight and hands-on leadership for facility repairs and PMs across chillers, pumps, HVAC systems, and other mechanical infrastructure.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings and schematics with proficient use of AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with ME, EE, CI teams, contractors, and internal/external SMEs to support equipment retrofits and new installations on time and within budget.
  • Oversee PM and repair activities of Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs) with ME or OEM contractors, ensuring air emission compliance and destruction efficiency targets are met.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with equipment manufacturer SMEs to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, reduce downtime, and enhance throughput.
  • Work with facility management and senior engineering to develop and execute strategies to manage obsolescence of mechanical systems and components.
  • Support Industry 4.0 and Digital Transformation efforts by identifying mechanical improvement opportunities and aligning necessary resources.
  • Serve as SME in automation, providing direct technical support in collaboration with stakeholders across all Lakeside sites and external suppliers.
  • Available for emergency call-outs, overtime shifts, and limited travel as needed.
