About The Position

If you are a Senior Maintenance Technician looking for an opportunity to grow and develop professionally, Emerson Discrete Automation has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Aiken, SC, the Senior Maintenance Technician will ensure safe, effective, efficient, continuous plant operation through proactive maintenance and reliability processes. IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE: Follows all safety policies and procedures defined by the company safety program and OSHA regulations to eliminate work related injuries. Performs both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair of production equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeter or other test equipment. Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems. Repair and maintain the operating condition of all industrial production equipment, including Test Stands and devices used to move, lift or convey product. Completes preventative maintenance and machinery repairs Assist with diagnosing and trouble-shooting maintenance related issues. Completes assignments in an orderly and expeditious manner by taking necessary safety precautions as well as understanding and adherence to established company/departmental policies. Practices Lean principles and participates in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of plant production and/or support equipment, and related processes. Performs highly complex equipment and system maintenance or modification tasks independently and in work teams. Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield Navigates PC/software as required Who You Are: Y ou make sound decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment. Must be able to read and understand mechanical and electrical blueprints Mechanical aptitude for machine repairs Ability to perform at a high level in both a team environment and individually Experience using PC and Microsoft Outlook Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future. Preferred education and experience Strong mechanical and technical ability Ability to mentor and lead junior technicians Proficient in problem-solving and troubleshooting Excellent team and communication skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Sound judgment in machine and tooling issues Ability to manage change and work independently Physical demands Must stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations as required. Must be able to lift heavy product or raw materials up to 50 pounds multiple times per hour during an 8-hour shift or longer in overtime situations to meet customer demand. Heavy loads must be team-lifted. Safety-focused, fast-paced work environment includes a clean and safe work area and exposure to high noise decibels, hot raw materials, fire-retardant materials, and limited chemicals. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficient in the following areas: Hydraulics, Electric, Automation Robotics, HVAC compressors and chillers, and Electric motors.
