Fairfax County Government is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Maintenance Supervisor to join the Department of Wastewater Management, part of an essential team dedicated to protecting water quality and ensuring the safe, reliable operation of critical utility infrastructure. As part of the Heavy Maintenance & Repair section, you will lead a crew of 4 to 10 employees in daily maintenance and construction activities related to the wastewater collection system, including inspection, cleaning, repair, and installation. This role combines hands-on leadership with technical oversight and administrative duties to support the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, skid steers, and dump trucks. Wastewater Management positions are responsible for providing uninterrupted sewer service to residents during extreme inclement weather or other emergencies. This position is designated as emergency service and is subject to 24-hour on-call and may be required to report to work during extreme inclement weather or other emergencies, including after-hours and weekend work during emergency incidents to fulfill emergency service duties. Overtime may be mandated when emergencies occurred related to the health, welfare, or safety of either the public or employees.
