About The Position

JLL is seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Covington, GA for 1st shift, Monday-Friday. In this critical role, you'll oversee preventative maintenance programs and protect our client's valuable assets by ensuring building engineering systems perform at peak efficiency. You'll lead maintenance initiatives across multiple trades while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with contractors to deliver exceptional facility operations that directly support JLL's commitment to creating exceptional spaces for our clients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education required
  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in all aspects of building engineering with strong technical background in machinery, plumbing, electrical systems, and equipment repair/maintenance
  • Ability to climb ladders up to 40 feet and repeatedly lift 60 pounds in various working conditions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with customers, contractors, and co-workers
  • Physical capability to operate electric hand tools, work on ladders, and safely perform overhead work including rooftop operations
  • Proficiency in computer applications including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and other relevant software programs
  • Ability to detect emergency alarms through auditory and visual means

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school or vocational education completion strongly preferred
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of building automation systems and energy management protocols
  • Previous experience in commercial real estate or corporate facility environments
  • Mechanical certifications or specialized trade licenses
  • Experience mentoring or training junior maintenance personnel

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute comprehensive preventative maintenance programs, scheduling tasks with minimal disruption to building services while delegating responsibilities to maintenance team members
  • Perform skilled maintenance work across multiple trades including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, millwright, and machinist functions throughout the facility and utility plant
  • Monitor and ensure quality standards for maintenance work performed by outside contractors and junior staff members
  • Respond promptly and courteously to facility requests within JLL and client guidelines, maintaining excellent facility relations through professional service delivery
  • Order necessary parts and equipment for repairs, maintenance, and installation of both new and legacy equipment while maintaining accurate inventory levels
  • Review monthly facility service request summaries to identify patterns and implement corrective actions for recurrent operational problems
  • Collaborate closely with contractors by providing access to machinery rooms, electrical closets, and restricted areas as directed by supervisory staff
