About The Position

The Senior Maintenance Mechanic position maintains city streets and drainage right of ways by providing timely repairs on large tractors and small engines in the field, keeping equipment running at all time.

Requirements

Requires High School/GED
Minimum of three (3) years of experience
A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
Must obtain a Class A CDL within 9 months of hire

Responsibilities

Diagnose, maintain, repair, rebuild, or adjust air, hydraulic brakes, hydraulic and electrical systems and components, computerized engine and transmission controls, power trains, gas and diesel engines cooling systems air conditioning and steering components
Analyze mechanical problems; make the final decision on maintenance procedures
Schedule and implement preventative maintenance procedures in accordance with technical manuals and established standards
Fabricate parts and equipment including mounts, brackets, and shields
Inspect work-in-progress, and authorize parts required for repairs
Maintain accurate records of work activities and materials used
Provide reports on work and equipment status as required
Use and dispose of hazardous materials according to established guidelines
Operate a work truck and/or trailer, passenger vehicles, utility vehicles and maintenance equipment
May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
