As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic to elevate the performance and reliability of our utility and production support systems at our Waunakee, WI facility. This is a high-level technical role for a skilled professional who thrives in a regulated manufacturing environment, enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, and takes pride in operational excellence. What You’ll Do As a Senior Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining the infrastructure that supports manufacturing operations. Your work ensures equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in at least one area (mechanical systems, HVAC, or refrigeration)
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production and utility equipment
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 40–50 lbs and working in varied environmental conditions

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing
  • Technical certifications such as ISA, CCST Level 2, Certified Instrumentation Technician, Certified HVAC/Refrigeration Technician, or Licensed Journeyman Electrician
  • 1st Class Boiler’s License or Universal Refrigeration License
  • Coursework or technical training beyond high school

Responsibilities

  • Start up, inspect, and maintain utility and production support equipment, performing daily and weekly checks.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues, making adjustments and repairs to minimize production impact.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on complex systems including: Solvent recovery and peptone concentration systems Boilers and water systems (PW/WFI) Freeze dryers and other critical manufacturing equipment Fire and security systems
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate controls and instrumentation for mechanical, electrical, and HVAC/refrigeration systems.
  • Conduct system tests and technical analyses to support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Adhere to regulatory, safety, and quality standards at all times.
