About The Position

This position will support advanced manufacturing programs for sustainment activities. The role involves serving as the lab technician for machining and additive manufacturing labs, including post-processing parts using manual machining, 3, 4, and 5 axis milling, CNC lathe, and wire EDM. Responsibilities also include equipment and lab maintenance, procurement of consumables and spare parts, and mentoring less experienced technicians, all while adhering to lab and equipment guidelines. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of machining and additive manufacturing techniques and will provide guidance on design for manufacturability, equipment and part setup, and part processing. The work primarily supports government customers, with some involvement with industry partners.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in conventional machining operations for metals (ie milling, turning, EDM etc...)
  • Experience with operating numerical controlled equipment (4 and 5 axis and CNC Lathe) for complex geometries
  • Experience with various CAD/CAM software packages and part programming for multi-axis processes
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 12 years of related technical experience is required at the T4 level
  • 15+ years of experience in conventional machining operations for metals
  • 1+ years of experience in additive manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience with lab environments and adherence to lab policies & procedures
  • Experience in interacting with design engineers and other technical personnel

Responsibilities

  • Support advanced manufacturing programs for sustainment activities
