About The Position

Software Mind is seeking qualified candidates located in Latam to fill the role of Senior Machine Learning Engineer. The Senior Machine Learning Engineer owns the development and deployment of machine learning solutions and influences the technical direction of their team. They will work closely with Product and Engineering partners in the development of the solution.

Requirements

• +90% English written and oral (at least B2 level) with excellent communication skills
• 5+ years of industry experience in applied Machine Learning
• Impact-focused and passionate about delivering high-quality models
• Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to lead and inspire a team
• Strong academic background
• Applied scientist experience
• Experience deploying machine learning models but also have knowledge of how machine learning algorithms work
• Experience modifying existing algorithms
• Experience deploying large scale machine learning models and understanding website traffic
• Has an understanding of machine learning principles and AI to solve problems
• Extensive experience with Python and SQL
• Experience with any cloud technology
• Preference for candidates with PhD’s
• Candidates must have at least a master's degree
• Preference for people who have published research or have journal publications

Responsibilities

• Leading the design, development, and deployment of machine learning solutions to address business challenges
• Writing clean and scalable code, analyzing large datasets, and applying advanced ML methodologies to build robust models
• Taking technical ownership, collaborating with stakeholders, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the company’s innovation through patents and publications
