About The Position

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our organization. Garner’s Engineering team tackles incredibly hard technical problems for a mission that truly matters. Our systems analyze billions of medical records to rank healthcare providers across the country. We are an AWS + Kubernetes shop, and we are constantly introducing new technologies as our system load doubles every year. We expect our engineers to champion cutting-edge industry practices as we aggressively embrace AI in every facet of our operations and norms. Requirements

3+ years of software engineering experience, especially with ML systems
2+ years of MLOps experience
Experience leading teams of engineers with demonstrated impact on technical strategy
A generalist software engineering mindset ready to learn new languages, frameworks, and techniques required for a fast paced startup environment
Demonstrated ability to build complex systems using AI coding agents (we use Claude Code)
Familiarity with data security and HIPAA compliance
A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback

Responsibilities

Lead team-level technical strategy and execution on multi-quarter time horizons
Use AI to build, optimize, and maintain ML, data, and software systems
Uplevel engineers across the organization by raising the technical barCollaborate across disciplines to understand our domain and iterate on projects
Protect our users’ privacy and security through best practices
