About The Position

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a full-time Senior Logistics Specialist to support our Salt Lake City office. The ideal candidate is an organized problem solver with excellent communication skills, dedicated to ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This position requires the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members. The individual in this role will have high attention to detail, strong time management skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. They will provide clear support to employees, negotiate assertively with vendors, and ensure operational excellence. This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position with benefits, based as a hub employee in the Salt Lake City, UT office. Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma (or GED equivalent).
  • At least one (1) year of experience in environmental consulting, office management, logistics, or administrative assistance.required; at least two (2) years preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Zoom and MS Teams video meeting platforms or a strong willingness to learn.
  • A current and valid driver’s license, with the ability to drive multiple types of vehicles, including trucks and 4x4s.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • The nature of this position is such that it is not a role which provides hybrid or remote work options. Interested candidates should be able to be at the SWCA SLC office daily, M – F.

Responsibilities

  • Manage field logistics for Salt Lake City staff, including coordinating fieldwork needs with project/task managers, scheduling staff, arranging vehicles, equipment, and supplies for fieldwork, and collecting vehicle inspection logs and expense receipts.
  • Support safe and effective field staff deployment, project data collection, and return of field staff.
  • Serve as the Office Safety Representative, managing health and safety compliance tasks, scheduling training courses, and completing monthly reporting.
  • Manage assets/inventory, maintenance, organization, and billing of field data and safety equipment, including technology asset management (e.g., field tablets and GPS equipment).
  • Organize safety gear, secure travel arrangements, track expenditures, and reconcile billing.
  • Procure Certificates of Insurance to meet contract requirements as needed.
  • Manage fleet of company-owned and rental vehicles, including taking vehicles for maintenance/repairs, picking up/dropping off at rental agency.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Provide backup coverage to the administrative team for tasks such as:
  • Office supply orders, mail/FedEx, errands, break room upkeep, meeting coordination, document production, and other office-related tasks.
  • Coordinating onsite and offsite office events, conferences, community events, and volunteer opportunities as part of our SWCA Gives Back
  • Onboarding new employees and offering on-site orientation.
  • Setting up desks for new hires with monitors, laptops, keyboards, and mice, and coordinating the shipping and receiving of equipment.
  • Managing office equipment and vendors, acting as a point of contact with property ownership.
  • Collaborating with corporate departments as directed.
  • Hosting virtual meetings via Teams or Zoom for the team.
