Senior Loan Review Officer

Under the general guidance of Loan Review Manager: Develops and executes a comprehensive program of internal auditing for the Bancorporation and subsidiaries; measures and evaluates effectiveness of internal controls, adherence to management directives and regulatory requirements, reliability of management data, quality of performance objectives, and extent to which the Bancorporation and subsidiaries’ assets are accounted for and safeguarded from losses.
Responsibilities
- Reviews new and/or renewed credit commitments to assign a risk quality rating in accordance with the bank's loan review rating system.
- Reviews and analyzes loan reports and associated credit information and investigation to determine the appropriate risk rating.
- Consults, as appropriate, with lending officers, credit administration officers and other loan review officers to achieve a thorough understanding of the credit under review and to reach a well-reasoned conclusion as to the appropriate risk rating.
- Produces narrative summary and analysis reports for watch, criticized and classified credits as part of the department reporting procedures for the Board of Directors and management.
- Functions as team leader/supervisor in remote locations providing guidance and training to lesser experience Loan Review Officers.
- Responds as appropriate, to written and oral recommendations from lending officers, both written and oral, regarding credit grade and other review matters.
- Identifies credits in need of revised risk grading by examining periodic system-generated past due loan, overdraft and special asset status reports.
