Tri Pointe Connect, the mortgage affiliate of Tri Pointe Homes, is looking for an experienced individual to join our talented group in Arizona as a Senior Loan Processor. This position will be located in Scottsdale, Arizona working a hybrid schedule (M-W in office/Th-Fri remote. Position Highlights:The Sr. Loan Processor works closely with homebuyers, Loan Officers, and Underwriters to facilitate the processing of documentation necessary to get the loan approval. Responsibilities include possessing the knowledge and attention to detail to review critical documents relating to income and assets such as paystubs, tax returns, bank statements, credit reports, and other key documents, possess strong underwriting analytical skills including calculating income on tax returns, analyzing credit, and the ability to review and disposition other critical documentation to the mortgage transaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a loan processing role; builder business required
  • Must have working knowledge of Encompass (Loan Origination System)
  • MS Office; including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of underwriting guidelines – including conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and non-QM
  • Strong regulatory knowledge, including ECOA, HMDA, RESPA, and other applicable federal or state-specific guidelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to operate independently when needed but perform as a team player
  • Ability to meet internal and external expectations when working under fast paced sometimes tight deadlines
  • Sedentary for extended periods, 4 or more hours per day
  • Frequent repetitive hand use (typing/computer work)
  • Auditory ability to communicate in person, on calls, or in meetings
  • Visual acuity for reading documents and computer work
  • Occasional standing and walking
  • Some climbing, bending, or kneeling
  • Minimal lifting and carrying (under 10 lbs)
  • Hours in excess of 40 during peak times

Responsibilities

  • Review file for completeness, comparing data entered in loan application with actual documentation in file
  • Review underwriting guidelines to ensure all applicable documentation is gathered and submitted for underwriting approval
  • Review documentation submitted by borrowers and third parties such as seller/builder, title/escrow, homeowners' insurance, etc. Ensure documentation is acceptable and meets applicable guidelines or underwriting conditions
  • Run automated underwriting systems (LP, DU, GUS, TOTAL) as applicable
  • Calculate income on potentially complex scenarios such as business tax returns
  • May disposition status of documents received to include acceptance or rejecting documentation for acceptability of meeting loan conditions
  • May be required to facilitate restructuring of loans when documentation supplied does not meet guidelines by locating another program that will be acceptable
  • Communicate verbally and electronically with internal and external parties applicable to the transaction including but not limited to loan consultants, builder representatives, real estate agents, homebuyers, title/escrow agents, homeowners' insurance agents, and others
  • Manage pipeline deadlines to ensure loans are submitted to critical milestones to meet purchase contract close of escrow deadlines
  • Maintain updated communication logs or other status reports as applicable
  • Attend weekly/monthly departmental meetings
  • Monitor loan files and submit change of circumstance requests as applicable
  • Order third party verifications (employment, income, assets, rent/mortgage) as applicable
  • Understand and adhere to all critical regulatory guidelines
  • Meet all established Quality Control Metrics
  • Attend departmental and compliance training as required
  • Meet minimum production requirements for active loan pipeline as well as loans closed on time
