Appear on the firm's behalf in federal and state courts to manage the litigation of insurance coverage issues, including motions, trials, status conferences, and other substantive and procedural concerns. Identify and defend the firm's legal interests by drafting motions, briefs, pleadings, written discovery, other legal papers, communications, and memoranda. Propose, prepare, respond to, and evaluate oral and written discovery. Decide on acceptable legal positions and tactics, and handle litigation; offer guidance on potential results, settlements, and awards. Complete all administrative requirements, such as time tracking, closed case reports, and other documents needed to carry out work responsibilities. Analyze conflicts in legal matters and advise clients on solutions. Manage caseloads and schedules. Prepare for and attend depositions and trials. Handle administrative tasks such as billing and record keeping. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Act as a mentor and coach to less senior attorneys, paralegals, and staff; explain issues, ideas, and concepts that are incorporated into work assignments. Ensure confidentiality.
