About The Position

Singleton Schreiber, LLP is seeking an experienced, organized, critical thinking Senior Litigation Paralegal to join our Environmental Litigation & Policy team. This position is fast paced, supports a team of attorneys performing regular litigation in state and federal courts, and will involve collaboration with other paralegals and assistants. This role is open to remote candidates. SALARY: $40.00 to $48.00 per hour Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in litigation, with a preference for experience in environmental law or mass tort cases.
  • Skilled in Filevine, Everlaw, LexisNexis, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of civil litigation processes, court procedures, and jurisdiction-specific rules in California required.
  • Ability to interpret and apply state and federal laws, ensuring compliance with procedural and substantive legal requirements.
  • Proficient in conducting legal research on case law, statutes, and procedural updates to support litigation strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in interactions with clients and experts.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload efficiently while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Strong proofreading and analytical skills to ensure accuracy in legal filings and reports.
  • Team player.

  • Familiarity with New Mexico, Washington and/or Mississippi a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Litigation Case Management
  • Maintain and update litigation files in Filevine and Everlaw, ensuring all case documents are properly categorized and easily accessible.
  • Track and manage all litigation deadlines, including discovery, depositions, expert disclosures, pre-trial filings, and trial dates, ensuring timely compliance.
  • Organize, index, and manage discovery responses and production files
  • Document Preparation & Court Filings
  • Review and summarize case pleadings, court orders, and procedural rulings to keep attorneys informed of necessary court actions.
  • Assist in preparing and filing pleadings in different state and federal court jurisdictions.
  • Oversee court e-filing processes to ensure timely and accurate submission of legal filings across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Discovery & Deposition Management
  • Coordinate with opposing counsel and co-counsel on discovery-related matters, including meet-and-confers and deposition scheduling.
  • Track, organize, and review depositions, expert reports, and witness testimony, logging summaries and key takeaways in Filevine.
  • Prepare deposition materials, including notices, subpoenas, exhibits, and outlines for attorney review.
  • Maintain and update deposition tracking sheets, coordinating scheduling with opposing counsel and ensuring proper filing of notices and subpoenas.
  • Work with attorneys to compile evidence and discovery for expert review, ensuring all relevant materials are prepared for disclosures.
  • Assist in drafting and filing motions related to discovery disputes, case dismissals, and motions to be relieved as counsel.
  • Legal Research & Compliance
  • Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and procedural rules to support motions, pleadings, and litigation strategy.
  • Stay informed on court rules, civil procedures, and jurisdiction-specific requirements in both state and federal courts.
  • Ensure compliance with filing deadlines, discovery rules, and trial procedures by applying knowledge of relevant court rules.
  • Trial Preparation & Support
  • Create and manage trial binders, including deposition summaries, witness lists, jury instructions, and motions in limine
  • Assist attorneys in organizing exhibits, expert reports, and key trial evidence for courtroom use.
  • Help prepare pre-trial motions, witness outlines, and trial briefs, ensuring proper formatting and timely filing.
  • Oversee document review and production processes to ensure compliance with court orders and opposing counsel requests.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and experts to finalize trial witness lists, exhibit lists, and demonstrative evidence.
  • Assist in jury research, including compiling jury instructions, voir dire questions, and jury analysis for trial strategy.
  • Track and manage trial logistics, ensuring all necessary filings, evidence, and exhibits are prepared and available for court proceedings.
