About The Position

Sr. Linux Systems Administrator The Sr. Linux Systems Administrator will provide support services for managing and maintaining the Reliability and Maintainability Information System (REMIS) technical infrastructure. REMIS is a web-based data system for collecting, validating, editing, processing, integrating, standardizing, and reporting equipment maintenance data. Pay Rate: $56.73 - $60.09 per hour during initial six-month term. $125,000 - $130,000 upon conversion. Work Location: Remote

Requirements

  • At start date, must possess an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II Certification. CySA+ CND Security+CE CCNA-Security
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting Red Hat Linux-based systems and applications.
  • Experience with the following: Gov Cloud services. Docker containerization. Troubleshooting Java application issues. Troubleshooting network issues. Firewall rules and troubleshooting.
  • Detailed understanding of incident management, system administration of system tools (Cron, etc.), and the ability to apply that knowledge to a production environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to stay focused.
  • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Current DoD successfully adjudicated T5 investigation. Most commonly attained with a TOP SECRET clearance (Note: a TOP SECRET clearance is not required, but the T5 investigation is necessary).

Nice To Haves

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems and applications.
  • Design and implement Linux-based solutions for various business needs.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using programming languages such as Ansible, Python, Perl, and Bash.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure proper system integration and functionality.
  • Monitor system performance and implement necessary updates and upgrades.
  • Ensure system security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users.
  • Deploy software and security patches (schedule, execute, and troubleshoot the deployment of software applications).
  • Review incidents, monitor server health, and implement authentication measures (certificates, etc.).
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the system and network through access controls, and firewalls.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix system faults to ensure the organization can function smoothly and be productive.
  • Maintain an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
