CACI is looking for a Senior Linux Engineer to support a newly established research and development environment. This environment provides a secure and compliant foundation for work across programs, utilizing a mix of on-prem and cloud based technologies. You will be a member of the corporate IT department working alongside highly skilled senior-level engineers delivering exceptional services and support to our programs.

  • Support Red Hat and Ubuntu Linux systems and related technologies.
  • Develop automated Linux OS builds for both servers and workstations, whether virtual or physical.
  • Leverage Red Hat Satellite and/or Ubuntu Landscape for management and patching of Linux systems.
  • Utilize Centrify for managing authentication, access control, and privilege management.
  • Create Splunk dashboards for troubleshooting and analysis.
  • Collaborate with other technical teams to resolve complex system issues.
  • Engage with related technologies, including: Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) Cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure Virtualization technologies such as Nutanix and VMware Supporting technologies including LDAP/Active Directory, Identity Management, Authentication, Load Balancing, Patch Management, and Security tools.
  • Implement security hardening measures, ensure compliance with industry standards like NIST, and contribute to vulnerability management efforts.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for operational procedures and create and maintain documentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of in-depth experience with expert-level knowledge of some or all of the following: Red Hat and Ubuntu both workstation and servers Custom OS Automated Installation – Kickstart, Scripting Red Hat Satellite Repositories and Remote Execution [REX] Privileged Access Management - Centrify Full Disk encryption - SecureDoc Scripting languages - BASH/Python Patch and package management – Tanium/JFrog Artifactory Containerization – Podman/Docker Device Control - USBGuard
  • Understanding of cloud and virtualization technologies: Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV
  • Familiarity with supporting technologies, including: LDAP, Identity Management/Authentication, Load Balancing Cisco SDA Splunk SCAP Monitoring and logging tools Configuration management systems
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with engineering support staff and management across teams.
  • Capable of both leading and collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to propose new ideas and thoughtfully challenge the status quo.
  • Detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and observational skills, along with a sharp focus on accuracy.
