About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Linux and Windows-based systems in a secure environment. The candidate will possess a Security+ certification and an active Top Secret clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility. Experience with Special Access Programs (SAP) within the last three years is highly desirable. technical and non-technical stakeholders in both independent and team settings. This role is an in-person role that is co-located with our government customer’s organization at WPAFB.

Requirements

  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility
  • Working knowledge of Windows server administration.
  • Experience with system monitoring and performance tuning.
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python preferred).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 6+ years of experience administering Linux systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
  • 12+ years of relevant IT experience and Bachelor’s degree in related field OR
  • 10+ years of relevant IT experience and Master’s degree in related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Special Access Programs (SAP) within the last 3 years.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • RHCSA Certification.
  • Linux+ Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers and workstations.
  • Perform system hardening and security audits to ensure compliance with established security policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Implement and maintain system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Bash, Python).
  • Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure system stability and availability.
  • Provide technical support to end-users.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in systems administration.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and procedures.
