About The Position

The Licensing Specialist will act as the Business Information Security Officer. Handling official company correspondence, maintaining proper communication with stakeholders and responding to inquiries. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date corporate records including articles of organization, meeting minutes, and important documents. Ensuring the company adheres to all state and federal regulations regarding filings, annual reports, corporate license renewals, and other requirements. Answering calls and coordinate with internal departments. Providing updates and executing Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Operational Assessment Tests in Archer. Coordinate with internal departments to process ownership transfers and implement new entity transfers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years business experience, including 2+ years in Financial Services
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Very disciplined with a strong process and control orientation
  • Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries in a matrix-management organization
  • Ability to proactively deal with Senior Management so as to make them understand IS needs and relate those needs to their business objectives
  • Self motivated to perform at a high level with minimal supervision
  • Persistent in the face of obstacles
  • Skilled in non-threatening escalation techniques
  • Technology knowledge is useful but not essential

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that their Business Manager(s) understand and buy into the importance of IS to protect the information used in their business to minimize the risk of regulatory penalties, adverse publicity, customer dissatisfaction or financial loss.
  • Work with the Business Manager(s), their direct reports and all levels of the business to instill a culture of IS pro-actively throughout the organization via a series of Awareness and Training programs
  • Ensure that the business understands their obligation to inventory and assess their core business processes and related applications for IS vulnerabilities – including all items which do not meet published Standards – and the threats that can leverage those vulnerabilities
  • Help the business define Corrective Action Plans to remediate any IS vulnerabilities and advise on interim compensating controls to minimize short term risk
  • Track progress of defined Corrective Action Plans to mitigate the known vulnerabilities in the business’ core processes
  • Contribute to team’s efforts to refine and enhance corporate IS standards to match the IS profile of the business
  • Periodically evaluate IS-related processes to confirm accuracy and completeness. Initiate steps to revise if necessary
  • Report IS status as required and needed to Primerica ISO support and to Business Manager
  • Meet regularly with Business Manager to ensure that they understand all existing risks and are comfortable with the corrective action progress
  • Recommend escalation approaches where needed to achieve planned IS objectives
  • Advise business on any new reported vulnerabilities or actual attacks that may affect them and track actions being undertaken to address the resultant risk
  • Ensure that their businesses regularly complete appropriate IS self-assessment tests to identify ongoing non-compliance areas and validate that appropriate corrective actions have been, and are being, taken
  • Work with Primerica IS Office to have them deliver business–related application and infrastructure IS assessments.
  • Help business and ISO to fund and schedule security upgrades where needed
  • Help business to create and follow a Business Security Incident Response Team process and ensure that all employees and any involved contract staff are familiar with the process.
  • Act as primary point person for the SIRT coordination to communicate and track incidents with the Primerica ISO
  • Establish open communications with all levels of the business.
