About The Position

We are seeking a Senior-Level Systems Engineer with hands-on experience across the full Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) lifecycle to support enterprise-wide transformation initiatives across GEOINT mission systems . This role is ideal for a strategic, critical thinker who thrives at the intersection of architecture, engineering analysis, and cross-organizational integration. The successful candidate will bring experience supporting complex government or IC environments and a strong understanding of enterprise architecture, systems integration, and technical planning. Familiarity with the GEOINT TCPED architecture is highly valued. You will play a key role in modernizing GEOINT mission capabilities and shaping future-state enterprise solutions. As part of the Enterprise Engineering & Architecture Division’s Integration Team , you will collaborate with Expert-, Mid-, and Junior-level Engineers and Integrators to conduct high-impact analyses and drive informed investment and modernization decisions. You will support integration activities across NGA Program Executive Offices (PEOs) , ensuring alignment, synchronization, and documentation of the enterprise baseline—including architecture, requirements, and interfaces. Working within NGA’s Digital Engineering Environment , you will help develop integrated project plans, target-state architectures, CONOPS, roadmaps, epics, and requirements. You will also participate in cross-organizational Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) supporting modernization efforts across Analytics, Collection Management, Data Services, Foundation GEOINT, and IT , ensuring cohesive solutions and on-time capability delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical or scientific field, including engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, computer science, information technology, management information systems, or a related STEM discipline
  • 12+ years' of relevant professional experience as a Systems Engineer can be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 12+ years' experience in government or industry supporting one or more of the following: DoD or IC Acquisition Processes Requirements development and management PPBES process Systems engineering of large, complex System-of-Systems or Service-Oriented / Cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or working knowledge of the GEOINT TCPED architecture , including data providers, systems/services, interfaces, and data flows
  • Knowledge of the NSG/ASG and NRO enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with transformational initiatives such as Artificial Intelligence, Multi-Cloud, and Edge Nodes
  • Experience using agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification(s)
  • Experience or working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) , including processes, tools, and modeling languages

Responsibilities

  • Perform architecture gap analyses and develop future-state enterprise architectures
  • Conduct engineering analyses to inform GEOINT Mission and IT investment decisions aligned to the enterprise architecture baseline
  • Perform baseline analysis and drive requirements allocation , system architecture mapping, and end-to-end traceability
  • Capture and translate mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements and solutions
  • Execute systems integration activities across organizations , leading and participating in IPTs
  • Develop project plans, architecture and engineering artifacts (e.g., CONOPS ), schedules, roadmaps, and risk documentation
  • Lead and/or participate in Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs) , Courses of Action (COAs) , trade studies, and engineering assessments
  • Provide thought leadership , identifying opportunities to expand team scope and defining execution plans, deliverables, and timelines
  • Participate in NGA governance, configuration management, and risk management processes
  • Help define and advance modernized integration processes , promoting agile practices, digital engineering adoption, operational efficiencies, and cross-organizational collaboration
