As a Senior Level Field Service Technician, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring seamless deployments, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving the evolution of customer networks. Requirements

  • Technical or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8-12 years of experience in telecom installation, provisioning, testing, live network migration, and consulting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Ciena products, with essential expertise in Ciena 6500.
  • US citizenship and a valid US driver’s license.
  • Ability to work during off-hours maintenance windows and travel domestically (50-75%) and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Tier 1 technical support for deployment services projects, ensuring seamless network transformation and modernization for US Federal Government customers.
  • Provide remote and onsite technical support, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor field technicians.
  • Execute advanced network upgrades, including channel additions, node insertions, traffic migrations, and hardware/software updates, without impacting end-user services.
  • Draft and implement network test plans and non-intrusive Methods of Procedure (MOPs) to ensure stable network operations.
  • Perform network audits, architecture design, and modernization planning to evolve customer networks via the EMOP process.
  • Serve as a key technical interface to customers, ensuring proactive communication and timely resolution of technical challenges.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to recommend enhancements to field deployment processes and drive improvements through Right First Time initiatives.
