The Senior Lending Compliance Officer, Advisory is responsible for performing compliance advisory duties as assigned in support of the Bank’s Compliance Management Program to meet the ongoing objectives of Stride Bank and to ensure all banking rules, regulations, and statutory requirements are met.

  • Maintains effective working knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance through ongoing research, training, and participation in industry forums.
  • Identifies and clearly communicates compliance gaps to business partners; develop and implement compliant solutions.
  • Provides clear actionable guidance to fintech partners and Bank personnel on becoming and remaining compliant.
  • Develops and enhances oversight reporting to help ensure the success of Bank programs, including fintech partner programs.
  • Supports the development and implementation of new fintech partner products and services, ensuring compliance is embedded throughout the lifecycle.
  • Assesses the impact of business process changes to the regulatory risk profile and the effectiveness of the control environment to maintain compliance.
  • Assesses changes to regulatory requirements and provides guidance to impacted business partners to ensure effective implementation.
  • Reviews internal and client-facing documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Scopes and executes compliance monitoring activities in alignment with the Bank’s compliance risk assessment and corporate risk appetite.
  • Partners with process and data owners to validate data content.
  • Maintains ongoing collaboration with business partners, delivering clear, risk-based guidance informed by regulatory assessments and control evaluations.
  • Contributes to the maintenance and enhancements of compliance policies, program standards, procedures, guidelines, training documents and other associated forms/documents.
  • Develops recommendations for updates to processes and systems to minimize compliance risk, improve performance and productivity, and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Investigates compliance-related issues, incidents, and consumer complaints; performs root cause analysis; collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Participates in third party audits and regulatory response activities pertaining to compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience, required.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory oversight, preferably in fintech or finacial services.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly evolving market.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to solve problems and make decisions using data.
  • Knowledge of existing and emerging bank regulations, audit processes, and compliance reporting.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • CRCM certification, preferred.
