Requirements

  • 7 years of legal experience in a functionally equivalent environment.
  • College degree required; degree in business-related field (e.g. finance, accounting) or experience with data manipulation preferred.
  • Experience with Relativity (or similar eDiscovery technology) including tagging and advanced searches.
  • Experience with Westlaw (or similar legal research technology) preferred.
  • Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) strongly preferred.
  • FINRA Series 7 license or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data manipulation (e.g. statistics, data analytics, trend reporting).

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and provide accurate, timely and professional responses to complex regulatory and litigation-related requests and demands with a particular focus on e-discovery for class actions.
  • Conduct timely, thorough, and professional investigations, including witness interviews and legal research, regarding regulatory and litigation-related demands and inquiries.
  • Analyze orders and requests received from various interested parties (courts, attorneys, regulatory agencies, and authorized individuals) to assess risk, and determine appropriate response.
  • Provide clear, concise, and professional responses to regulatory and litigation-related requests/demands, including assistance with the collection and production of records.
  • Utilize e-Discovery technology and assist with the enhancement of standard procedures and training related to advancing the firm's electronic discovery and litigation-related support capabilities.
  • Conduct interviews, gather information and collaborate cross-functionally in a manner consistent with the firm's culture, values, policies and procedures.
  • Assist with ensuring that outgoing discovery productions are made pursuant to legal and regulatory standards and specifications.
  • Negotiate discovery requests and propose and implement alternative action when appropriate to resolve disputes.
  • Analyze data and provide information and suggestions to leaders and partners based on discovery issues, volumes, and trends.
  • Assist in the onboarding and mentorship of others regarding responding to regulatory and litigation-related discovery requests.
  • Contribute to discussions and decisions on new technology and process improvements related to electronic discovery.
