About The Position

The FMR LLC Legal Department is seeking to hire an attorney to join the Workplace Investing (WI) legal team. You will be part of a dynamic legal team advising Fidelity's defined contribution plan recordkeeping, administration, trust, and institutional business including product and service development, ongoing plan administration, reporting and disclosure, document and contract support, client escalation, and investment related matters. You will also collaborate on advocacy for, and implementation of, new legislation and regulation affecting the business. You will work with multiple groups within WI and across the Fidelity enterprise, including risk, compliance, government relations, relationship management, product, client experience, finance, sales, technology, and marketing. The role calls for the following experience and expertise: JD and at least 5-7 years of relevant law firm, industry or regulatory experience. Admitted to practice or willing to secure bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction. Working knowledge of employee benefits law applicable to defined contribution plans, small business retirement plans, and IRAs, focusing on the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA. Experience with brokerage accounts and securities laws as they relate to employee benefit plans is helpful. In addition, the role calls for the following capabilities and skills: Strong orientation to client service (for internal and external clients) with an emphasis on responsiveness to client inquiries. Strong work ethic, excellent judgment, and keen attention to detail. Strong research, analytical, investigatory, and problem-solving skills. Strong presentation, oral communication, and writing skills. Ability to effectively collaborate on projects and initiatives and to build relationships with business and legal partners, risk and compliance, while exhibiting behavior consistent with Fidelity's culture and values. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment handling multiple projects simultaneously. You will play an important role in primarily advising WI operations, product teams, relationship management, sales professionals, and others. Your role will be critical to the smooth running of Fidelity's recordkeeping and trust business and the business teams that support retirement investors across the enterprise. You will work closely with a dynamic, highly skilled, and collaborative group of legal, risk and compliance professionals.

Requirements

  • JD and at least 5-7 years of relevant law firm, industry or regulatory experience.
