Teradyne is seeking an experienced and driven leader to champion the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) / Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) department. This department is crucial for the physical design and layout of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), component modeling, signal and power integrity simulation, and EDA tool integration. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of state-of-the-art electronic test instruments used in semiconductor Automated Test Equipment (ATE). This position requires a strong commitment to customer success and the ability to drive innovation and excellence in every connection. In this role, you will own and drive all aspects of PCB physical design and development, including placement and routing, as well as advanced electronic packaging for cutting-edge instrument technology. You will champion the selection and maintenance of state-of-the-art capabilities within the organization through continuous improvement of tools, technologies, and processes associated with PCB design. It is essential to ensure that the total cost of ownership and ROI of the required tools meets business needs while keeping the organization aligned with the latest tools and best practices. You will leverage emerging innovations, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), to improve efficiency by reducing development time and costs. Additionally, you will drive the simulation of designs, ensuring that PCB designs meet the design intent with minimal iterations. Strong collaboration with manufacturing, supply chain, and design engineering is vital to ensure seamless integration with adjacent design processes, including those of manufacturing partners and other engineering disciplines. As a senior leader, you will manage a group of managers and individual contributors across multiple geographic locations. This includes conducting performance reviews, providing constructive feedback, and creating career development plans for the engineering staff. You will also manage timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project completion while being an active and collaborative member of the hardware product engineering leadership team, ensuring that overall business goals are met.
