We are seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to join our Performance and Talent Hub team within the Intelligent Foundations & Experiences group. Intelligent Foundations & Experiences (IFX) is a powerful collective of horizontal technology organizations that are driving Capital One’s real-time intelligent future. Together with our partners in the Enterprise and across lines of business, we deliver broad-reaching technical solutions and advance state-of-the-art science to help every Capital One associate and our 100+M customers succeed. Our Performance and Talent Hub team is reimagining the talent and performance management experience at Capital One. Designed with a platform centric mindset, it empowers associates and leaders with intuitive tools and data-driven insights, to support continuous growth and better talent decisions. Built as a greenfield application with a platform mindset, it leverages a modern tech stack including React.js, TypeScript, and AWS services to deliver scalable and secure, consumer grade experiences. What You’ll Do:
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)
- At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
Nice To Haves
- Master’s Degree
- 9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js
- 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
- 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
- 1+ years of people management experience
- 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
- 2+ years of experience with AI/ML operations and deployment experience, 1+ year of experience with Agentic AI
- 1+ year of experience with LangChain or LangGraph
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company
- Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code
- Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
- Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services
