About The Position

The Senior/Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer role will work in the advanced manufacturing engineering (AME) department playing a key role in supporting new product and process development in order to achieve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost objectives. Based out of Sidney OH, this role is an integral part in the design, development, integration, and continuous improvement of assembly processes. This position will collaborate with employees at all levels across multiples sites of the organization and serve as a manufacturing process Subject Matter Expert (SME). The engineer will research manufacturing industry trends and deploy relevant technology in our global HVACR Technologies plants. Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering Field (preferably Mechanical/ Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Industrial Engineering) or (10+) years of relevant manufacturing work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of (5) years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Use of 2D/3D CAD programs (AutoCAD, NX, or equivalent).
  • Understanding of GD&T principles.
  • Drive multiple projects at once using Gantt chart planning, timeline tracking, and budgeting to ensure on-time, on-target execution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to think through entire systems and outcomes to find the best solution.
  • Must be able to interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience making data-driven decisions.
  • Strong digital literacy (MS Words, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Brings people together-strong interpersonal skills used to collaborate across functions and facilitate meaningful knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of capital projects where you'll participate in multi-functional teams to craft, procure and qualify equipment & processes as well as be responsible for budgeting, schedules, and supplier/vendor coordination.
  • Influence production excellence by leading in the identification, design, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes with a focus on improved accuracy, reliability, and reduced cost.
  • Bring your 3D CAD skills (NX or similar) to life-develop machine tooling concepts and interrogate supplier machine designs to ensure assembly quality metrics will be met.
  • Utilize effective problem-solving skills and develop temporary and permanent solutions to manufacturing issues.
  • Turn ideas into motion - apply automation and LEAN principles to create efficient plant layouts and material handling solutions that power high-volume assembly lines.
  • Develop manufacturing process requirements and perform PFMEAs to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Perform capability studies, and gage R&R's for assembly processes.
  • Interface with Copeland manufacturing facilities to gain an understanding of their needs and how best to meet them.
  • Develop documentation for use by operators and maintenance technicians to perform their duties and assist them in troubleshooting.
  • Align with all required safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time.
