About The Position

VectorUSA is seeking a Senior Lead Access Control Technician to join our Intelligent Surveillance & Access Control Division. This senior-level position is ideal for an experienced, certified professional with deep expertise in access control system programming, installation, and integration. You’ll take the lead on delivering enterprise-grade access control solutions—from hardware configuration to software programming—across high-security environments including schools, hospitals, ports, and government facilities. Our Access Control & Video Surveillance team partners with industry leaders such as Identiv, HID, AMAG, Axis Communications, Avigilon, Milestone, SALTO Systems, Verkada, and Brivo to deliver unified, end-to-end security solutions that protect people, property, and information.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in access control installation, configuration, and programming.
• Proven experience with enterprise-level systems (Identiv/Hirsch, AMAG, HID, or similar).
• Access Control Certification (Required) — manufacturer or equivalent.
• Strong background in low-voltage systems, wiring standards, and electronic security.
• Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with hardware and software.
• Familiarity with network configuration and IP-based system integration.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and leadership abilities.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of VMS integration (Milestone, Avigilon, Verkada, etc.).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Experience leading or supervising technical installation teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of access control system installation and programming, including configuration of readers, controllers, panels, locksets, and software platforms.
• Install, program, and integrate access control systems such as Identiv/Hirsch, HID, AMAG, and related technologies.
• Configure and troubleshoot access control networks, hardware devices, and software components.
• Perform system commissioning, testing, and validation to ensure optimal performance.
• Execute system upgrades, firmware updates, and software patches.
• Conduct site surveys and work closely with engineers to design tailored access control solutions.
• Maintain documentation, drawings, and configuration records for each project.
• Mentor and guide field technicians on installation standards, best practices, and programming methods.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, electrical, and security standards.
• Provide occasional support for video surveillance system integration when applicable.
