Requirements

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to perform duties requiring walking, kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting at least 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-In-Caring Process in all interactions and in performing all job duties. Performs duties in a manner to promote quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.
  • Ability to communicate in English with hospital staff, patients, co-workers, and supervisors.

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years as laundry, linen worker or service worker preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process linen: feeding, receiving, sorting, folding, wrapping and/or stacking; inspect linens identifying linens requiring repair or reprocessing; load processed linens into baskets, racks and the conveyor ensuring availability and appropriate storage of processed linen.
  • Orders linen
  • Build clean, neat, organized carts to set standard par level
  • Loads/unloads trucks
  • Deliver clean linen to the different departments within the hospitals.
  • Operates Cart Sterilizer
  • Report machinery problems immediately to management
  • Ensures safe care to patients adhering to policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
