About the position

Our Landscape team have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Landscape Architect or Landscape Architect with Landscape Planning experience to join their team - working on a broad range of prestigious landscape projects across the country. This role represents a great opportunity for you to develop your career, leading on and contributing to a wide range of projects across a variety of sectors - including urban regeneration, new town settlements, tall buildings, residential/mixed use greenfield development, commercial, infrastructure and energy projects at various stages of the planning process. Your responsibilities will include carrying out landscape/townscape and visual impact assessments and providing strategic analysis and detailed design advice. Whilst landscape planning is a focus of the role, you will have the opportunity to continue to develop your landscape design abilities. You will work collaboratively across our UK Landscape team, including senior colleagues and technical and design specialists in our hub offices of Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, London, Reading and Warrington. As a result, you will benefit from the expertise of a range of skilled and experienced practitioners and develop as a well-rounded professional. The role can be based from either our Birmingham, Bristol, London or Reading offices, with hybrid working allowing for a mix of in-office and home working. Our offices in Birmingham, Bristol, London (Soho Square), and Reading are based in the city/town centre within walking distance of the main train stations. Our offices are friendly and sociable places offering a supportive working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out landscape/townscape and visual impact assessments
  • Providing strategic analysis and detailed design advice
  • Conducting preliminary landscape and visual appraisals to inform the development process
  • Performing landscape and visual impact assessments
  • Creating conceptual and strategic design sketches as appropriate
  • Conducting townscape and visual impact assessments and tall building assessments
  • Performing strategic assessments of designations such as Green Belts and Strategic Gaps
  • Conducting Landscape Capacity and Sensitivity Studies and character assessments
  • Inputting to Vision Documents, Design and Access Statements and Design Codes

Requirements

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in landscape planning
  • Experience in landscape and visual impact assessments
  • Ability to create conceptual and strategic design sketches
  • Experience in conducting townscape and visual impact assessments
  • Knowledge of strategic assessments of designations such as Green Belts
  • Experience in Landscape Capacity and Sensitivity Studies
