Vault 44.01 (“Vault”) is a leading carbon capture & storage (“CCS”) developer focused on the development, capitalization, and operation of carbon storage assets throughout North America. Vault’s team brings over 90 years of direct carbon storage experience, with involvement in the development of carbon storage projects across North America since 2007. Vault’s capabilities span technical analysis, project design, permitting, stakeholder engagement, land leasing and acquisition, facility construction, and operations. In collaboration with our industrial partners, we are currently developing CCS projects in the US Midwest, US Southeast, and Canada, focusing on single CO2 source, near-site sequestration projects and including 7 projects currently under contract. Vault has secured a US$300 million equity capital commitment from Grey Rock Investment Partners (Dallas, TX-based private equity company) and has offices in Denver, CO and Calgary, AB. Vault is seeking a Senior Landman with exceptional collaboration capabilities and a strong builder’s mindset. Reporting to the VP, Land and Stakeholder Engagement, the Senior Landman will execute functions related to surface and subsurface leasing, oversight of title and abstracting functions, and right-of-way acquisition. The individual will work to acquire and maintain pore space and right-of-way for carbon sequestration projects across North America through “boots on the ground” landowner engagement, involvement in community relations, and presentation of industry-specific educational data. A proven ability from sourcing to closing is required to be successful in this role. This role will interact with various functions within Vault 44.01, including Subsurface, Business Development, Finance, and Project Management. This position requires an exceptional, highly motivated person willing to commit to face-to-face, high-touch landowner interactions and to work cross-departmentally to acquire pore space and right-of-way within project parameters. Critical to the role’s success, the Senior Landman will be expected to interact with individual landowners, local and state officials, and industrial partners to inform on the technical parameters of carbon capture and sequestration and ultimately acquire pore space and right of way. The Senior Landman must possess both a strategic mindset and the desire to tactically acquire pore space and right of way through landowner engagement, drafting and editing of lease documents, and oversight and management of brokers and attorneys for title diligence. This job ensures alignment of land acquisitions with company goals. This position requires extensive travel.
