About The Position

Kleinfelder's Design team is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Land Design Engineer to join our southeast engineering team. With expanding opportunities in the region and a variety of clients, the ideal candidate will join our high achieving, fast-paced team. Excellent communication skills with the willingness to take on responsibilities are valued attributes for this position. The project work will be multi-disciplinary in nature, but experience in traditional industrial/commercial land development, solar, and/or mining is especially relevant. This is a hybrid office role and can be based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Atlanta, Georgia, or Charlotte, North Carolina.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
• 3-8+ years of related experience in civil engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter who can work independently and with team members.
• Ability to engage in multiple projects to complete successful requirement deliveries.
• Ability to organize priorities and multi-task effectively.
• Pro-actively troubleshoot and problem-solve with practical, client-focused solutions.
• Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals.
• Computer skills preferred: AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, WaterCAD, MS Office.

Nice To Haves

• Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Complete civil engineering designs and the generation of professional plans and specifications, technical calculations, exhibits and reports in the following areas: Site Layout, Grading, Storm Drainage, Water & Sewer Utilities, Erosion and Sediment Control, Storm Water Best Management Practices, Variety of Civil 3D Plans, exhibits, and technical deliverables, Municipal and State permitting.
• Evaluate design to solve constructability, municipal code, and site challenges.
• Coordinate with Architects, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Engineers.
• Perform site visits to perform job scoping and coordination with survey crews, SUE, Geotech, etc.
• Provide periodic construction support to include: review of RFIs & Shop Drawings, field inspections, etc.
